First Blog....

So I waited to start a blog until I really had a reason for one. I am not a journal writer, so this is out of character for me. This year is going to be such a big one for us, I thought now would be a good time. First of all, if you don't already know:

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!!

After 4 1/2 years of marriage, we are finally multiplying. I'm not good at keeping things to myself and some people have been curious so here's the story. We had always planned on waiting about 5 years to have a baby. We wanted to be absolutely ready and given that I was 18 when we got married, I wanted a little life experience first. We thought after I graduated and when we bought a house it would be good. Well, we were only married a year before we bought our first home and I was going to be graduating soon, so we started to think about it in early 2007. Then, to our surprise (and confusion) we ended up with a positive pregnancy test in July 2007. Sadly, soon after, we lost it. After this, we decided we were ready to start trying. I took another 6 months and 2 more miscarriages, but we finally made it without help. (so thankful for that, specialists are expensive!) We are so thankful and ecstatic to join the married with babies club (which always seems like everyone is in it but you).  Our estimated due date is October 31st, so a Halloween baby!!! That's about all I can say for now......Updates to follow: )

In other Packard news........

So the other news this year is that I am graduating finally and we are moving across the country again.  Here's the situation: Kevin got a much anticipated position with Conn-Selmer, which is a part of Steinway & Sons in Elkhart, Indiana(hopefully this means I will be getting a grand piano soon :). This is huge for us! It is a great work environment, his salary is nearly doubled, and he loves it. Plus, he is better at leaving work at work now (still can't peel his Blackberry away yet). It is so nice to have a husband that is not so stressed all the time! Even though it is a much bigger company, he has a whole team to get things done for him so he doesn't have to do it all himself.  He's so elite......:) So anyway, he started working there in Indiana, while I take care of the house and finish school. I plan to move in May, but until then, I can only see him once a week or once every two weeks. It kinda sucks. We are so excited to move there, as we are pretty disenchanted with Florida. For those of you who don't know, Kevin served his mission in Indiana, and we will get to be in one of his old areas! Even better news is that if we ever sell our house here, (anyone want a vacation home in sunny Florida?) we can buy a mansion there with lots of land. I never realized how expensive Florida was until I started looking at houses in Indiana. So excited for that!
So that's the current situation I guess. Many updates to follow as we sell our home, buy a new one, move, graduate, have a baby, etc..........What a big year!!!!!!
