Rori- 9 Months

This girl just gets prettier and prettier and sweeter and sweeter!

Things she does:

*She's tiny! 16 lb 10 oz and 27 inches putting her in about the 15th%
*has 5 teeth- 2 on top, 3 on the bottom
*started pulling up to stand at 6 1/2 months
*can now walk around furniture
*can let go and stand unassisted for about 30 seconds at a time
*claps and plays patty cake
*slaps and hits everything
*can manage her binkie herself now
*can climb a couple stairs
*eats lots of people food and likes to feed herself. If I try to spoon feed her, she takes the spoon and shoves it into her mouth herself
*favorite foods so far- frozen blueberries, bananas, avocado, eggs, frozen peas and corn, and peanut butter crackers
*has greenish-blue eyes. I think they will end up green like mine. They are certainly much lighter than my other two kids' eyes!
*laughs when I sing. She thinks it's hilarious!
*is super ticklish
*likes to "talk," or as the rest of us call it, SCREAM during church and anytime you want her to be quiet. Not a mad or sad scream, just her way of talking.
*Likes to play the "I'm going to babble and squawk and throw my binkie out of the crib till you come and tuck me in again" game at bedtime. It's so cute cause she gets super excited and kicks her legs and laughs when I walk back in. I usually have to go in and give her the binkie and tuck her in a couple times before she settles down and falls asleep. At least she goes happily!
*on that note, she still wakes at night, but it's getting better. I have sort of given into the fact that none of my kids will sleep through the night before 12 months. It makes it easier to deal with it if I look at it that way. I can't (won't) let her cry because A. she would wake up the other kids, B. I can't sleep if she's crying anyway, and C. we tried it a couple nights and they were the worst nights of my life. I'd much rather trudge half asleep into her room, nurse her for 2 mins and put her back down than listen to her cry from 2-4 am. So yeah. I'm tired most of the time. But!! Lately, she's been sleeping from 6:30 or 7 pm till 2:30ish, then waking once more at 4:30ish and sleeping till 7 or so. It's awesome!!
*she's a snuggler. She's totally that baby that will rest her head against yours all the time or nuzzle in when you hold her. She just loves being held close and wont squirm even if I'm sort of smothering her a little, lol.
*she's always watching. She is very observant. Not too interested in toys, just people. I love watching her facial expressions when she sees something that interests her. I can just see those mini wheels turning.

Donny- 2 1/2

It's time to update on Donny!
Man, oh man, this kid!! I don't even know where to start with Donny. When we are going to bed at night, talking about how cute our kids are, Donny usually dominates the conversation. This kid is ridiculously cute. Ridiculous, I tell you!!! A little about our little, little Donovan:

* He's my easiest kid right now. Whoever coined the term "terrible twos" was crazy. Josie was a breeze at 2 and so is Donny so far. He gets a bit rambunctious sometimes and when he's tired he cries easily, but he also gets over it quickly. He's a good listener and is usually very obedient. He happily does me favors. He is usually very agreeable. He also is a great sleeper. He goes down without a fuss at 7 pm and sleeps till 6:30 or so. He also takes naps happily. Ok, we do still bribe him with a bottle of milk (I know, I know. It's only at bedtime), but he would nap anyway. When he gets tired during the day, he's not afraid to admit that he needs a nap and he climbs right in his crib. Yes, he's still in a crib. Not because he can't handle a bed, but because things have been so busy lately, we haven't gotten around to getting him a bed. Sad, I know. I don't think it's a big deal, though. He knows how to climb out, but never will without permission. Josie was like that as well. Weird?

He's pretty much potty trained!!! A couple weeks ago, it was snowing and we had no place to go. I woke up and decided it was a good day to potty train. I just told Donny, "Ok, your a big boy now. You are going to be potty trained. No more diapers." He just smiled and said "Ok, Mommy!" And that was that. I put underwear on him and sat him on the toilet once an hour. The first day, he had 2 accidents, but didn't fight the process and tried to go anytime we were at a toilet. Since then, he still has about 1 accident per day, usually from not getting to the potty in time. He usually goes a little, stops himself, and runs to the bathroom and climbs on the toilet by himself. It's kind of funny to see since the toilet is so big for him, he literally has to climb to get on it. He started doing that himself, though, and is doing so awesome! Josie was super easy to potty train and was totally trained before 2 1/2. We are still doing diapers at night, but he does wake up dry about half the time. Since he waits for us to get him, he usually wets himself before we get him on a toilet. I'm just so tickled about him being daytime potty trained, I'll worry about nighttime later. So glad to only be changing one kid, now!

*Still sucks his thumb and rubs his belly button when he's tired, sad, or falling asleep.

*He's tiny. Currently he weighs about 25 pounds putting him just barely on the charts. He is sooo skinny. His giant head and skinny body make him look like a cartoon character.

*He's smart. He not only knows his alphabet, he can recognize all the upper and lowercase letters and numbers, too. He can count to 20 easily. Colors are hit and miss, though. He's into whatever Josie is into, so he learns along with her. I don't teach him anything! He loves books and puzzles just like his sis.

*He's a talker. Donny has an awesome vocabulary. I sometimes forget he's only 2, since his comprehension is so good. Since he copies everything Josie says, he talks like a 4 year old, just with a lisp and stutter. He has quite the stutter right now. It started a few months ago and has gotten progressively worse. It's apparently very normal and is just his brain working faster than his mouth. It should resolve before age 3 or 4. Right now, it sometimes takes him a while to get a sentence out. Sometimes, he's just fine and doesn't stutter. When he's excited or frustrated, it takes him a while. It usually sounds like: "Mom, I I I I I I I I I I I  w-w-w-w-w-w-ant a c-c-c-cup of m-milk." We try to be patient and not laugh. It's actually really cute. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it, so it's no big deal. Other than that, he is always picking up new, big words from Josie and communicates very well. The best is when he says the prayer or tells us a story. He also puts on a great puppet show!

*Like his sister, he's a daredevil and is scared of nothing. He will try anything.

*He's a little sweetheart and definitely a cuddler. He loves to lay on my lap and loves giving kisses. He a little too cuddly for Rori's liking lately. He sort of smothers her most of the time. I can't leave them alone together at all cause he'll either strangle hug her or try to ride her like a horse. He really loves her and it's not malicious, but he doesn't get how fragile she is, lol. He's always been sort of a daddy's boy, but he calls for me whenever he's scared or not feeling well.

*Josie is his favorite person in the entire world. If she's not within sight, he must know where she is immediately. This is why sending Josie to preschool would have just meant a sad, sad Donny those hours she would be away. They fight everyday, but man do they love each other!

*He's super polite. I never really drilled him on it or anything, but he is always big on saying a big "fank you" after anything you do for him. "Fank you, mommy! Fank you for da samich!"Love it : )

*He loves Spiderman, Godzilla, and Disney princesses.

*Donny's always singing. Usually the ABC's or something from "Nightmare Before Christmas" or maybe a primary song.

This video's awesome. I was giving Rori a sink bath and Donny came over to play with her. As I got her out and was drying her off, I turned around to see him with his clothes off, climbing in the sink, lol! I asked him to sing a couple songs for me. As he sang the second one, I had to walk away for a second.  There was a package of m&m's on the counter (potty treat) that was obviously tempting him. You see him checking them out and thinking about taking one when I walk back over. So funny!

I don't have any great recent pictures. Need to work on that! Here are a few from the last month or so. A bunch are from a Valentines day party we went to. Enjoy!

Watching Star Wars with daddy. Another favorite movie : )

"Getting married" to Josie. A bit underdressed, I think? : )

Finger painting!

Just sitting on the pot, in the living room, with a Star Wars Mickey hat. Totally normal.

A normal Saturday morning: Donny reading on the pot, daddy singing along with the girls.
